Fire Boy and Water Girl

Fire Boy and Water Girl is a game that combines a little bit of everything. It's mostly a puzzle-strategy game, but it plays a little bit like a jumping action game. Fire Boy is controlled with the arrow keys, while Water Girl is controlled with ASWD. It involves a bit of multi-tasking, and sometimes you have to think about your strategy, which makes it a pretty fun way to kill a few hours.

Corporation Inc

Corporation, Inc is a fun strategy game where you create your own office building, workers included, and build it up into a giant organization. There are lots of aspects to juggle, from keeping your workers efficient and happy to managing the space available (building elevators and restrooms). The game is technically over when you meet all the accomplishments, but you can keep going, perfecting your office building and building up and up to create a skyscraper.

Cursor*10

Let me warn you: this game is tough. It works a lot like The Company of Myself, where your early lives help out your later lives. You have to work on timing, click fast, and get a little bit of luck to get into the upper levels, but it's pretty addictive, so you'll keep trying (or at least I did).

Play Cursor*10.

Factory Balls

In Factory Balls, you have to use paint, belts, and other various tools to create the ball pictured on the box. There are a lot of different options, and as you proceed, it gets more and more difficult.

And then Factory Balls 2.

The Company of Myself

The Company of Myself is a very nice artistic game with a melancholy story. You play as a sad man (you learn more of his story as you advance) who reaches his end goal by interacting with his shadows. There's a fair bit of strategy involved, but the story keeps you pushing on to see what happens.

GemCraft

If you're looking for a game that's more of a long term commitment and less jump-around-punch-out-enemies, then maybe GemCraft is the game for you. I played it religiously last summer, and it lasted me over two months. It's a matter of managing your points and spending wisely, but there are truly endless levels. There isn't much reward, other than the sense of accomplishment, but it's such a mammoth of a game that you really do feel like you've accomplished something when you've won. (you haven't...you've just wasted a lot of time playing a silly internet game.)

There's a newer version, GemCraft Labyrinth (I think), which I haven't started yet, but I'm sure promises even more tower-building joy. I'll let you know what I think of it when I've had time to give it a solid run (don't expect anything for a few months).

Play the game here.
